On June 20, 2017 the ZTE Corporation company announced reaching an agreement with SoftBank Corp. on start of a pilot zone for technology 5G in the range below 6 GHz (sub-6Ghz) at a frequency of 4.5 GHz in the urban areas of Tokyo.
Project tasks
Will provide for these tests of ZTE network solutions 5G and together with SoftBank will conduct works on check of performance of technologies 5G in actual practice.
SoftBank started researches and development, joint with ZTE, on technology 5G – multichannel input and output (MIMO). It was commercially started in the operating 4G network from the second half of 2016. Relying on experience of commercial network, SoftBank and ZTE are going to continue studying of use of this technology during a 5G era.
