On July 4, 2017 the companies SK Telecom also Samsung Electronics announced completion of testing of end-to-end connection 5G using technologies 5G New Radio (NR).
Project Results
Testing is held in Samsung research center in the city of Suvon. When testing are used the virtualized Samsung 5G core, the virtualized RAN network, the distributed block (shaping unit of modulating signals and the radio unit) and the test device conforming to modern standards 5G NR. It is supposed that development of the 3GPP Release 15 standard will be completed at the end of 2017
The achieved results of testing:
- speed is over 1 Gbps
- time delay in 1 ms.
The low delay time is reached due to reduction of an interval of transfer (TTI) to 0.25 ms that is four times faster, than modern LTE 4G networks allow. For achievement of this speed of the company used a capacity band to 100 MHz.
