The institute of nuclear physics of Budker (IYaF) announced conclusion of an agreement with the European center of nuclear researches (CERN) about software development which will have to unify information platforms of all experiments of the Large Hadron Collider.
The software is called CRIC (Computing Resource Information Catalog). In materials CERN follows from the description that it represents software of an interface layer (middleware), describing topology of computer models, resources and services which use applications of experiments of the Large Hadron Collider.
In total on the Large Hadron Collider seven experiments directed to obtaining new fundamental knowledge of properties of matter are made. The scale of the data obtained on a collider is very big therefore in CERN geographically distributed system of calculations - the world computer grid-network of the Large Hadron Collider was created.
New software is intended for consolidation of data, providing the unified access that should provide operability of all infrastructure of a data processing system. The term of start of new software in CERN is designated by the end of 2017.
This project with CERN is not the first for scientific IYaF. Earlier they created the information system AGIS for one of large experiments of the Large Hadron Collider in CERN - ATLAS (a research a proton - proton collisions).
IYaF say that the AGIS system turned out so convenient and functional that the management of CERN made the decision to create its expanded version for other experiments of the Large Hadron Collider.
