Central Naval Museum purchased the scanner of ELARSKAN A2 for digitization of exhibits

The Elar corporation at the beginning of July, 2017 delivered the planetary scanner of ELARSKAN A2 in Central Naval Museum. Using the new equipment will transfer accounting documents and collections of the museum to an electronic form.

"We are going to digitize all funds which are possible to transferring to a digital form using the planetary scanner of A2 format for ELARSKAN — Olga Borisova, the chief of scientific and information department of Central Naval Museum told. — Digitization is carried out for the purpose of creation of images of museum objects for their inclusion in Goskatalog of Museum fund of the Russian Federation".

In Central naval to a muse engravings of a Petrovsky era, albums of watercolors and chromolithographs, an extensive collection of posters are stored painting and graphics of the Russian and European artists. In fund of projects of the ships — 20tys. drawings of the ships and courts and also unique books, albums of the Dutch ship builders of the 17th century, drawings of the ships with autographs of Peter the Great and other outstanding persons. In a collection of photonegative fund — the photos, negatives, photo albums and photocards dated three last centuries. Digitization of such different exhibits requires the equipment which, on the one hand, is universal, and with another — will provide careful scanning and faultless result, emphasized in Elar.

"ELARSKAN A2 is suitable for digitization of books, volumes, albums, filings of documents, folders, drawings, maps, posters, photos — the deputy manager of department on work with the museums of Elar corporation Evgeny Mokeev noted. — The only restriction is the format of an object of digitization — it should be no more A2+. The contactless method of scanning completely excludes mechanical impact on originals, and high quality of electronic images is provided with a professional optical system and the built-in functions of software processing operations".
