Business division of Panasonic corporation in July, 2017 provided service for IT specialists, technical directors and owners of the companies — the online calculator of aggregate value of devices (Total cost of ownership, TCO) allowing to estimate the actual cost of ownership of the park of corporate PCs and a possibility of reduction of IT expenses due to use of the protected mobile devices.

Up to 15% of target costs within 5 years corporate customers thanks to the protected notebooks, tablets and handhelds can save — analysts of the independent research agency IDC and Panasonic came to such conclusion, having studied expert opinions of IT heads of 800 organizations from various sectors of the economy.

"Convince Chief information officers of what needs to be paid now to save later, not easy — Jan Kempfer, the marketing director of Panasonic Computer Product Solutions noted. — The protected devices often are more expensive, than traditional notebooks and tablets, but, as it appears from these independent researches, these investments quickly pay off — for the first year of operation for tablet and handheld devices and in two years — for notebooks".

During the research IDC it was also established that on average about 18% of consumer corporate notebooks, 16% of tablets and 14% of handheld devices annually require repair. More than 11% of notebooks fail in the first year of operation (generally because of accidental damage), and within the next 5 years the percent of failure grows to 21%. The indicator of failures for tablets is 13% for the first year of operation and 19% for the next 5 years. At handheld devices these indicators are 14% and 17% respectively.

The most vulnerable components in notebooks, according to a research are a screen, the keyboard and the hard drive (HDD or SSD), at tablets — the screen, ports/connectors and the external body, at handheld devices — the screen, the accumulator and the external body.
