In the BMW cars Skype for business will appear

On July 13, 2017 it became known of installation of the corporate version of Skype in the BMW cars. Thus, the German auto giant and Microsoft corporation expand cooperation.

Skype for business will appear in the information and entertaining BMW iDrive system. The first the new feature will be received by cars of a brand of the fifth series (BMW 5 Series). At first service will be available in the USA, Germany, France and Great Britain, and in further is going to expand geography.

Integration of the business version of Skype into automobile electronics will allow drivers and passengers to join automatically the planned conference calls (including by video conference) without the need for manual confirmation. A system will also announce users the forthcoming meetings and changes in the schedule.

It should be noted that Microsoft and BMW have a partnership experience. In 2016 the companies through joint efforts developed the Open Mobility platform including Microsoft Azure cloud, and after BMW became one of the first car makers presetting the software of Office 365 in the machines.

Besides, BMW connects calendars and lists of affairs from Microsoft Exchange service to the cars, and in January, 2017 the car maker announced plans to use the Microsoft Cortana virtual assistant for online access to lists of affairs, reminders, news, events and other functions of voice service.
