Sberbank is going to purchase the storage system (SS) of category High-end. For this purpose on July 14, 2017 the bank announced a tender with the initial cost of contract of of $64 million (about 3.85 billion rubles).[1]
Purchase consists of two lots. The cost of the first is $51.2 million, the second – $12.8 million. In each of them the cost of ownership (TSO) for one terabyte (Tb) of available disk space of DWH will be estimated. The different companies providing the equipment of different producers should become winners of lots.
According to conditions of bank, participants of an auction should have the status of the distributor of Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) or Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). At the same time, one participant has no right to represent several vendors.
Sberbank specifies two disk arrays in the name of the purchased goods: Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) VSP G1000 and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) XP7. The available disk space according to the specifications provided by the customer is equal to 270 Tb.
The cost of installation and commissioning should not exceed 3% of the cost of the equipment and should enters calculation of TSO. A guarantee for all supplied equipment should make 5 years.
The results of an auction should be summed up on October 31, 2017.
