The technology of determination of volumes of Smart Timber wood allows suppliers and buyers of wood to determine with a high accuracy wood volumes by the analysis of video images.

The software solution is developed on the basis of the proprietary patented algorithms and techniques of calculation and can be used on small and large enterprises of the logging industry.

The technology is an alternative to a manual method of measurement and automatic evaluation of volumes of the wood, combining their advantages.

2020: Mobile application of Smart Timber

On April 29, 2020 the Systems of Computer Vision company provided the Smart Timber system for calculation of volumes and accounting of round timber. The service based on proprietary technologies of computer vision and machine learning allows the wood-processing enterprises of any scale quickly and with a high accuracy to make calculation of volumes of the wood put by stacks on the earth or submerged in the timber carrying vessel.

Mobile application of Smart Timber

According to the developer, this solution helps to tsifrovizirovat process of measurement of volume of wood and further processing of the acquired information. The intuitive interface of mobile application and smart hints allow to expedite measurements and to receive result. It is enough to log into the application, to make a picture of a stack and to enter required parameters. The application will make necessary calculations, and the user will receive data on height, width, length, volume and coefficient of nontaperity of a stack. Instead of a line and a tape measure, tables and hand-written reports on arms of workers of the industry there was a modern mobile assistant saving time of personnel of the enterprise for more responsible work. The solution is easily integrated with standard services which use the Russian enterprises, such as 1C, Excel, etc.

As of April, 2020 the company holds pilot application testing with potential clients on real data of the enterprises of the industry. Within the first month of application testing there is a monitoring of features of work of service in the conditions of the specific enterprise then the customer can receive the personalized offer on individual completion of a system taking into account features of the company or use standard tariff plans.

2017: Announcement of the solution

On August 2, 2017 the Systems of Computer Vision company provided the method of determination of volumes of wood designed to help the companies to lower losses because of the wood half-received or lost in way and to solve the majority of other problems inherent in traditional methods of calculation of volumes of wood.

At a manual method of measurement of volumes of the wood measure by a tape measure length and height of a stack and multiply the received value by coefficient from the table. Despite an error of this method about 20%, widely apply it in the industry because of low cost: in fact, only work of the specialist expert is paid.

Automatic evaluation of volume of wood using a laser equipment requires the special expensive equipment and qualified specialists. At this method each log is banished via the scanner and thus obtain exact data.

The technology which is offered by "the Systems of Computer Vision" combines the high accuracy of a laser method of determination of volumes of the wood and low cost of a manual method. For calculation of exact volumes of the wood it is enough to photograph a stack from two parties. Then the program of image processing will independently define quantity of logs, density of laying and will enter the necessary amendments.
