Ural Federal University (URFA) and Cognitive Technologies group (develop the systems of the artificial intelligence (AI) and pilotless transport) started in the summer of 2017 the Urals Kognitiv of Agro program. The program is international, will implement it in Brazil and Argentina.
According to plans of the parties, "Kognitiv of Agro" will attract the Urals to 3 billion rubles, report RIA Novosti. About 800 million from this amount are own money of partners. The program will last till 2022[1].
What is planned according to the program
According to the statement of the parties, a project objective — to increase efficiency of agriculture by means of robotization and implementation of AI.
Also it is going to train more than 200 specialists in a scope of computer vision and neuronets in agriculture. Specialists URFA will be engaged in educational activity.
Why Russia "smart agriculture"
Robotization of the agrarian sector on average increases efficiency by 50-70%. Thanks to new technologies the consumption on fuels and lubricants is cut and also less water and electricity is lost. Besides, in robotic agricultural enterprises the quality of harvesting is up to 60-80% better, and the cost of landing is up to 80% lower.
