iPhone nano is the smartphone in the body of an iPod nano player.

2017: Patent for the smartphone

On August 9 it became known of obtaining by Apple company the patent for the device which, judging by appearance, represents itself the smartphone concluded in the body of an iPod nano audioplayer. In the patent the device is described under the name "iPhone nano". It is remarkable that by patents and trademarks of the USA the company submitted the patent application to Bureau 10 years ago.^[1]

As you know, in July, 2017 Apple officially stopped production iPod nano, having explained it with loss of interest in a product from the consumer and followed this recession of sales. The fate of again patented device, nevertheless, remains undecided — the concept of the smartphone with the small display in 10 years practically lost popularity. In particular, the Patently Apple resource expresses doubt that the company will be engaged in release of iPhone nano. Nevertheless, Apple did not make official statements concerning the device future yet.

Feature of iPhone nano is the back panel equipped touch and the force-touch-interface (reacting to clicking force).^[2] In addition, on the back the touch keyboard is located. When the user drives a finger on the back panel, on the device screen, depending on these movements, the cursor moves. As soon as the cursor is installed in the necessary provision, the user should press stronger a finger that "click" the selected item. Such system, most likely, is designed to facilitate control of the device using one hand. The sensitivity to force of clicking reminds 3D Touch technology which Apple for the first time applied in iPhone 6s in 2016.
