"Severstal Distribution" selected Transporeon for management of transportation costs

Impressive sales volumes of Severstal Distribution group (in 2016 this indicator was 1.5 million tons of products) and accomplishment of multimodal transportations in the huge territory of deliveries require the accurate organization of logistics. Transparent communication with carriers, cost control on transport and receiving the best rates – tasks which face the Severstal Distribution group.

For their solution at the order of motor transport a choice for benefit of the logistic Transporeon platform was made. The module "Best carrier" allows to hold mini-auctions to participation in which the interested carriers, are invited to each transport request. As a result the company receives relevant price offers in real time and can confirm the order with the conditions, most profitable to itself.

Cooperation between Transporeon and Severstal Distribution group began in 2015 with transportations in Europe. Motor transport found through this platform performs deliveries from Latvia, Poland and Russia to clients to the countries of the Baltics and Eastern Europe and also to Germany, Finland, Sweden and the Netherlands.

In Russia pilot start of the Transporeon platform took place in November, 2016 on the platform "Severstal Distribution" in Cherepovets. Now the decision to expand use of the Transporeon platform on other branches across all Russia is made.
