2017: Announcement
On August 24 Kaspersky Lab announced application programming for protection of the smart house — Kaspersky IoT Scanner.
The Kaspersky IoT Scanner application the router, the IP camera, Smart TV, Wi-Fi the printer, network storage (NAS), the media server, the video game console and also the computer, the tablet or the smartphone will automatically recognize in a home network such devices as Wi-Fi. The solution remembers them and reports if any new or already familiar device was connected or disconnected. Thus, the user can always control who has access to its home network at the moment.
In addition, the solution scans all devices on the known vulnerabilities. For example, if ports of connection of gadgets are open (i.e., anyone from Internet can be connected to them), the solution will report about it and will advise them to close quickly. Also Kaspersky IoT Scanner will inform on problems with passwords for Wi-Fi of the router and network protocols Telnet and SSH — it is necessary in order that the malefactor could not get access to connected IoT- to devices because of the weak password set on them.
| In our "moneybox" the set of free solutions for the most different tasks and platforms, and Kaspersky IoT Scanner perfectly supplements this collection. The new application will allow a considerable part of Internet inhabitants, namely — to users of smart devices, to feel protected. And as the solution is still available in the beta, we will be glad to receive from users any comments about its work — it will help to improve a product and to increase the level of protection of people and their houses" — Andrey Mokholya, the head of consumer business of Kaspersky Lab noted. |
