Eurasian confederation of societies of owners of EAKOP

The Eurasian confederation of societies of owners — international association in the field of collective management of the rights — is registered on August 25, 2017. The headquarters of confederation is located in Moscow (Russian Federation). The leading national societies managing the rights of different categories of owners in the territory of the countries of EEU and the CIS are a part.

Act as founders of EAKOP: The Russian Author's Society (RAS), the All-Russian Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), the Russian Union of Owners (RUO), Partnership on protection and management of the rights in the field of art (UPRAVIS), the Kazakhstan author's society, Public service of intellectual property and innovations of Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyzpatent), Azerbaijani Authors Public organization, the National center of intellectual property (Belarus), the Kazakhstan society on management of intellectual property rights, the Belarusian society of authors, contractors and other owners, Public organization on management of the rights of authors and owners of the neighboring rights Armavtor (Armenia).

History

2017: Registration

On August 25, 2017 international association in the field of collective management of the rights "Eurasian confederation of societies of owners" (EAKOP) is officially registered. The corresponding data on the organization were entered Ministry of Justice Russia in the Unified state registry of legal entities.

The decision on EAKOP organization was made at the end of May, 2017 at a meeting in Minsk. Then representatives of the leading author's societies from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan participated in a constituent conference.

EAKOP will allow to consolidate the advanced practicians and experience of the leading author's societies, through joint efforts to create and strengthen institute of collective management of the rights to territories of member countries of EEU, the CIS and not only — Ismail Mammadkarimov, the CEO of EAKOP, the chairman of the Azerbaijani author's society considers. — At the same time the main task of confederation consists also in improvement of activity of each separate member organization — by implementation of effective standards of work, development of processes of data exchange and the equipment, increase in transparency and openness before the represented owners.

From the moment of organization of confederation the large-scale analysis of activity of the participating organizations was carried out and key aspects for upgrade are defined. Among the first tasks which EAKOP intends to solve — automation of all key processes of work of societies. Already today the special software optimizing distribution of award is developed.

In the work we aim to consider the modern realities connected with development of digital technologies and emergence of new methods of information transfer — Andrey Krichevsky, the secretary general of EAKOP, the CEO of the Russian Union of Owners (RUO) and All-Russian Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) noted. — Therefore members of EAKOP already began process of implementation of the new software which will allow to automate process of distribution of remuneration. Software already works in the Russian societies and managed to prove the efficiency. In the nearest future we expect to finish integration of software products in other EAKOP member organizations.

EAKOP will be implemented a complex for the organization of collecting and distribution of remuneration for benefit of owners – Hypergraph. This technological solution is created especially for the organizations for collective management of copyright and related rights.
