LMC Caravan develops the system of intralogistics based on solutions of Jungheinrich

The German concern Jungheinrich announced on August 30, 2017 that the LMC Caravan company made the decision to expand the logistic center located in Zassenberge, Germany.

Project Tasks

The strategic task consists in optimization of storage system and the movement of materialopotok thanks to implementation of complete intralogistichesky solutions. The project implemented together with experts of Jungheinrich provides construction of the automatic warehouse of fine details expected 9600 containers and also a narrow-passage warehouse with a capacity of 3800 pallets.

Choice of solutions

Control of a warehouse will be exercised using a system Jungheinrich Warehouse Management System (WMS), including also integrated Jungheinrich Warehouse Control System (WCS) system.

We selected logistic solutions of Jungheinrich as they optimum meet requirements of our future warehouse complex and are capable to create steady basis for development of a system of intralogistics at the enterprise in Zassenberg. I expect successful implementation of this project and further development of cooperation with Jungheinrich — Timo Tesch, the head of logistics in LMC Caravan said.

Project Progress

The automatic warehouse of fine details will be connected via the pipeline equipment to four workstations of storage and completing of goods. Each workstation is connected to the second that they could use the same transport routes. For ensuring the maximum space usage in the building 12.5 m high the automated warehouse of fine details was developed for double-sided side storage of containers and trays of 600 x 400 mm that made possible design of the narrow building.

The warehouse complex of 1630 sq.m has the following parameters: width is 21 m, length is 77 m, height is 12.5 m. In addition to an automatic warehouse of fine details, the narrow-passage four passes warehouse between racks will be located here. Operations on movement and stacking of goods will perform two narrow-passage Jungheinrich EKX 516k pilers with a telescopic pitchfork. Both pilers will be integrated with the Jungheinrich WMS system for optimization of routes of selection and completing of goods.
