Philips ClearField — LED lamps of red light of production Philips Lighting.
On September 1, 2017 the Philips Lighting company stated that according to results of a 5-year research the light solutions Philips ClearField do not damage health of night animals.
The scientific department of Philips Lighting company studied behavior of bats together with the Netherlands institute of ecology and Wageningen University. The research showed that this or blue world from road lamps in a natural area of dwelling of night animals can negatively affect their health, and red light of LED Philips ClearField lamps does not disturb biological rhythms of mice. Results of a five-year research were published in 2017 in the Royal Society Journal Proceedings B magazine.
Joint work with Philips Lighting allowed to take an important step in a research of impact of LED technology on bats — doctor Kamiyel Spoyelstra, the researcher of the Netherlands institute of ecology noted. — As a result it was succeeded to find out that use of the correct lighting in natural areas of dwelling of night animals gives the chance to save the wild nature and the environment. |
Natural area of dwelling of bats — the deserted darkened sections. Night animals try to avoid light and noise having negative effect on the level of their activity. Globalization leads to reduction of a natural area of dwelling of mice and growth of level of light pollution which, according to forecasts, will increase every year by 6%.
Scientists started carrying out a research in 2012. On 8 platforms in the Netherlands in the native habitat of bats lamps of red light with Philips ClearField technology, green Philips ClearSky light and standard road LED lamps of this world were installed. The brightness level of installed solutions conformed to the standard of lighting of country roads. The experiment showed that this and green world of road lamps reduces activity of bats. Red light of the solutions Philips ClearField does not affect health of night animals.
The report published in the magazine — the culmination of the five-year research which showed that the correct lighting is capable to protect bats who are carried to an endangered species — Maurice Donners, the senior research associate of Philips Lighting emphasized. — Our next step — together with the Netherlands institute of ecology to continue a research and to estimate, the natural area of dwelling of bats how strongly suffers from influence of the wrong artificial light and as the solutions Philips ClearField can improve this situation. |
