NPK "Irkut" used foreign software in the project of creation of the airplane

On September 5, 2017 the Irkut corporation announced implementation of IBM Rational DOORS technology as one of elements for development of the information management system requirements (IMSR).

Project Tasks

The Irkut corporation used the universal software for requirements management earlier. Considering need of management of thousands of requirements in interaction with the international partners, the company selected IBM Rational DOORS and Publishing Engine technology for the project of creation of the MC-21 airplane.

Requirements management is an important component of creation of such difficult technical products as the MS-21 airplane. The software of IBM Rational DOORS is one of elements of the management system for requirements designed to provide the high level of design of the complex plane systems for creation of aircrafts, competitive in the world market. Project Results

The ISUT system implemented Irkut is intended for maintenance of processes of management of requirements at design of aircrafts: development, monitoring and the analysis of specifications, control of making changes and report generation about the status of fulfillment of requirements.

Creation of MS-21 – strategically important project not only for "Irkut Corporation, but also for the Russian aircraft industry in general as it is a good opportunity to show the innovative solutions allowing to increase significantly the level of comfort of passengers, security and economic characteristics. A large number of aviation standards and strict control from certification authorities leave no chance for producers of a difficult technique any more to work with former methods.
