The Softline training center transferred IT infrastructure to ActiveCloud cloud

ActiveCloud transferred IT infrastructure of Softline training center to a cloud that allowed to optimize the budget on purchase of the equipment and to provide uninterrupted access for listeners to educational resources.

Project Tasks

The Softline training center has several tens of classes in 13 cities of Russia where more than 10 thousand people annually gain knowledge. The periods of peak loads — spring and fall. To provide to listeners uninterrupted access to materials of rates and passing of laboratory practical works, the flexible infrastructure meeting the requirements of seasonality of consumption of computing powers was required. Purchase of the expensive high-performance equipment taking into account that it should be used not at full capacity, was economically unprofitable. Therefore in training center the decision to pass into ActiveCloud cloud was made.

Project Progress

The provider provided steadily working service with the guaranteed availability it is not lower than 99.95%, 24/7 technical support, high data availability — and all this, on a withdrawal of Softline training center, at the attractive price. Use of service of graphic remote tables ActiveDesk for engineering disciplines carrying out rates based on solutions of Autodesk, Graphisoft, Ascon and others became an additional possibility of a cloud solution.

Project Results

The project was uncommon: it was required to transfer historically developed infrastructure to new rails, without having affected learning process. The solution is created on the VMware vCloud platform of the latest version and supports simultaneous operation of several hundred virtual machines thanks to all-flash to storage. Reliability of service is provided that in data center of the Tier III level the server hardware, communication channels and systems servicing them is duplicated — Dmitry Yashin, the manager of projects of ActiveCloud told.

New academic year we meet fully equipped: our infrastructure conforms to modern requirements. An opportunity to scale the consumed resources and to pay them only upon use became important advantage of cloud computing to us.
