EnglishDom: EDClass

EDClass is the "smart" digital platform for studying of English.

EDClass represents the complex EdTech-solution which includes interactive methodical materials and a personal account with a possibility of planning of occupations, viewing history of payments and also analytics of efficiency of educational process. Smart analysis allows to conduct full control of quality of training and to synchronize the level of complexity with progress in training.

Training materials are synchronized with autocheck, and lessons are constructed by the principle of "the inverted class": the possibility of the correspondence preparation is available that allows not to spend time for clear materials and check of homework.

Rates

The platform consists of four rates developed under the different level of knowledge of pupils: for a beginner to advanced: in each of rates — 50 lessons. Specialized business rates for separate professions and the express rates created under a specific subject, for example, of a travel or IT are also provided. Such rates include 20 lessons.

Each lesson consists from:

• warm-ups,
• studying of new words,
• acquaintance with a theoretical part of a lesson,
• number of tasks for fixing of the theory,
• audio or video test for understanding of a topic of the lesson,
• role situation,
• questions for discussion,
• games on fixing,
• homework.

Each occupation includes 10 types of trainings of phrases and words and is based on the principle of the designer: the teacher acts as the content manager and can create content under any request of the student, proceeding from his preferences and level of knowledge. A system analyzes capabilities of an individual pupil and builds learning process so that to the tasks, most difficult for understanding, the greatest number of time was selected.

Study process

All process of study is completely synchronized: the teacher sees each action of the student and vice versa. As a result occupation takes place more productively as the teacher can highlight proper words, add them to the dictionary by the student for further studying in mobile application. All this transfers process of studying of English of spontaneous to accurately built ecosystem where complete history of occupations, progress, the passable program and analytics of all processes is available to the teacher and the pupil.

Analytics

The analytical component which using Big Data will allow to understand as far as the teacher suits the student on psychotype as users perceive the offered content and how to control progress in training is integrated into the platform. The built-in metrics will allow to fix the speed of accomplishment of each of types of tasks, to monitor the general progress and to predict the speed of development of linguistic skills of each certain taken pupil and to analyze the LTV student.

2017: Start

On September 19, 2017 the EnglishDom online school announced release of the "smart" digital EDClass platform for studying of English from any place in the world. The platform allows to keep under control all educational process — from the schedule, payment to progress analytics, to adapt lessons for each pupil individually and to save time on homework thanks to autocheck.

Own EnglishDom Self-Study project as result became a basis for the digital platform, all process of engineering development was implemented in 4 months (8 sprints and 6 pre-releases). At a team of 5 developers on project implementation 1500 hours of a net koding left. As a result the platform consists of 20 thousand lines Javascript, 20 thousand lines CSS and 30 thousand lines PHP. In total about $500 thousand own means were spent for development and project implementation. Did not attract investors of EnglishDom.

Implementation of technologies to all spheres of life cardinally changed the course of usual processes in all industries, and especially — in education. It is not necessary for pupils any more that they were controlled. EdClass will teach, will explain material and will check homework. In the next version of EDClass it is going to add video by the interlocutor instead of video from Skype, group and corporate lessons in which content will be developed under specific purposes and the client's tasks and also record of the passable lessons. Also the release of free mobile application for studying of words under iOS and Android is planned for October, 2017.
