5G-MoNArch

Company

The consortium of a 5G-MoNArch created by fourteen industry and scientific partner enterprises set a goal – to realize scenarios of use of technology 5G by creation of flexible and adaptive architecture on standard experimental platforms. Innovations within the project of a 5G-MoNArch include sets of protocols of the virtualized networks, control and management of network segments and their optimization based on debug testing on real network along with development of safe, failsafe network functions with flexible resource allocation.

The technology 5G should promote not only evolution of broadband mobile access, but also business development of new type and the vertical industries due to network segmentation that plays the defining role in the course of creation of a telecommunication ecosystem. With respect thereto, the 5G should integrate effectively standards of network segmentation that promotes its fast evolution.

The project of the European Union 5G PPP (a 5G of private public partnership, PPP) became one of the most important study programs on technology 5G. Creation of consortium of a 5G-MoNArch – the second phase of program 5G PPP. The project will be implemented during the period from 2017 to 2019, and the European Union will provide financing of 7.7 million euros.

2017: Connection of Huawei

In September, 2017 Huawei announced consolidation of efforts with the leading scientific and industry partners and accession to consortium of a 5G-MoNArch. Its task – development of solutions for the following key phase of architecture of mobile and wireless communication of a 5G. Within work of consortium Huawei is responsible for development of flexible and adaptive architecture of networks of the future.

Since METIS project launch the Huawei company was an active project participant of the first phase of program 5G PPP: Mobile and wireless communications Enablers for Twenty-twenty (2020) Information Society-II(METIS-II), Millimetre-Wave Based Mobile Radio Access Network for Fifth Generation Integrated Communications (mmMAGIC), Flexible Air Interface for Scalable service delivery within wireless Communication Networks of the 5th Generation (Fantastic-5G), 5G of Exchange (5G-EX), Dynamically Reconfigurable Optical-Wireless Backhaul/Fronthaul with Cognitive Control Plane for Small Cells and Cloud-RANs (5G-Xhaul).

Research and development of Huawei company is devoted to scenarios of practical application within the second phase of program 5G PPP in projects of a 5G-MoNArch, Fifth Generation Communication Automotive Research and innovation (5GCAR), E2E-aware Optimization and advancement for the Network Edge of 5G of New Radio (ONE5G), 5G Programmable Infrastructure Converging disaggregated network and compute Resources (5G-Picture), 5G of Development and Validation Platform for global Industry – specific Network Services and Apps (5Gtango).
