Renal replacement therapy is a complex of therapeutic measures that implies full support for the functionality of the kidneys in irreversible pathological processes. Renal replacement therapy has the following types: hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, constant hemofiltration or hemodiafiltration, "hybrid" methods of replacing kidney function.

2022: Baxter has released a device for round-the-clock renal replacement therapy
In early April 2022, Baxter released a device for 24-hour replacement renal therapy ST Set. The device filters blood more slowly than standard hemodialysis machines, this more sparing, round-the-clock therapy is usually intended for patients hospitalized with acute kidney injury who cannot withstand three-hour sessions of conventional dialysis.
