Smart glass of Mikron

2017: Announcement

In October, 2017 the companies Mikron, Tekhnotorika also Fleksoznak presented the solution for control of a goods turnover in institutions of public catering and holding joint advertizing campaigns.

The "smart" glass announced at the PIR Expo exhibition in Moscow allows owners of mini-coffee shops to control ingredients and supplies, to prevent repeated and inappropriate use of glasses, to remotely trace a goods turnover and prevent thefts of a product.

The buyer in a zone of self-service brings a glass to the coffee machine and automatically receives the paid drink. Without programming of a glass neither the cashier, nor the buyer can pour drink that guarantees compliance of the drinks given about sale, revenue and a consumption of ingredients.

Statistics is kept directly in a system, and the cashier has no direct access to it, therefore, cannot distort it somehow. Data on all coffee machines connected to a system gather in the single database for the further analysis.

Besides, new development, according to the manager of projects of PJSC Mikron Vasily Volosov, helps to expand audience and to organize advertizing campaigns with loyalty systems (for example, to provide discounts for trips to the taxi or tickets at movie theaters) thanks to information written in the chip.

The "smart" glass, according to plans of authors of the project, can find application at restaurants, dining rooms, bars, the airports, gas station, stations, business centers, etc.

The solution is created using the MIK213ND RFID microcontroller from Mikron company. The RFID technology provides creation of the effective communication channel for the purposes of professional advertizing. RFID tags will allow to convey expanded information on goods to the buyer, will increase efficiency of actions of loyalty, will help with carrying out tenders and lotteries, note in Mikron.
