Qrator Labs protected Olymp Trade from massive DDoS attacks

Qrator Labs specializing in counteraction to DDoS attacks and ensuring availability of Internet resources announces that it provided availability of Internet resources of Olymp Trade company, in having neutralized a number of complex DDoS attacks.

Olymp Trade is the international online platform for trading in financial market. Working at the market since 2014, the company already managed to deserve reputation of the reliable and stable online platform. The trading Olymp Trade platform is about 20,000 at the same time trading traders and 100,000 new traders in a month making about 15 million transactions.

In September, 2017 Olymp Trade for the first time faced purposeful DDoS attack – the largest company for all history. The attack was made at the L2 levels (an attack on channel capacity) and L7 (the attack at the level of applications) on several vectors, since trial blows to Olymp Trade services and finishing with a long night series of continuous requests. At the same time to the addresses of staff of the company letters with direct threats and requests for payment of means for DDoS termination were sent.

After technical support specialists of Olymp Trade recorded significant deterioration in service and instability of work of the platform, the decision to switch to network of filtering Qrator was made. After connection, training and setup of network all "garbage" traffic was filtered, and work of service was normalized.

However after a while attacks continued: the next intensive attack fell upon resources of the client. But even after hackers changed an attack vector, the Qrator network quickly adapted to changes and effectively neutralized new mass requests.
