2024: Sale of the plant to Adamant Holding

On February 19, 2024, a deal was closed to sell Russian factories to Japanese glass manufacturer AGC. These assets were bought by the St. Petersburg holding Adamant.

We are talking about the sale of the Bor glass factory and the Klinsky glass factory. The director of both enterprises, Sergei Knyazev, in a conversation with Kommersant, noted that since AGC suspended investments in Russia in March 2022 to February 2023, enterprises have been "in some stagnation." Knyazev assessed the arrival of a new investor who presented a long-term plan for the development of enterprises positively. Financial and other terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Sale of Russian factories of Japanese glass manufacturer AGC closed

The Borsk Glass Plant produces 1.2 thousand tons of glass per day and up to 1.5 million machine kits of tempered and multilayer automotive glass per year. The company is the largest manufacturer of automotive glass in Russia.

The Klinsky plant, built in 2004, produces 1.6 thousand tons of float glass per day. The plant has the largest glass furnace in Europe with a capacity of 1 thousand tons per day. There are also two lines for the production of glass with magnetron coating, a line for the production of construction triplex, a line for the production of lacquered glass and a mirror sheet.

AGC Adamant, which bought Russian production sites, is a multidisciplinary holding, including its assets - shopping complexes (Nevsky Atrium, Zanevsky Cascade, three Continents in St. Petersburg, etc.), business centers, warehouses, concrete plant "Young Drummer," construction companies, etc. They own the Russian Glass Company - it unites 13 glass processing plants in Russia, produces double-glazed windows, media facades and other products (by February 2024).[1]
