Qualcomm Video-Over-Mesh

Qualcomm Video-Over-Mesh is wireless Mesh-networks of an operator class for home use.

On October 29, 2017 company Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. presented the complete technological solution of wireless transmission of video Video-Over-Mesh optimizing video transmission on Mesh-networks.

The technology helps operators to deploy the Mesh-network Wi-Fi solution, providing a signal covering on all floors, on all corners of the house. It allows to unroll video services on the basis of traditional wireless network gateways, set-top boxes and Mesh-network systems^[1].

The direction of cooperation - development of solutions on the basis of the Mesh-network Qualcomm Mesh Networking Platform platform. It is going to be provided in 2018.

The Video-Over-Mesh technology helps to provide high-quality video without failures in each corner of the house — even in Mesh Wi-Fi networks with several nodes. This software provides less than 40 ms of a delay and is optimized for transfer of video content practically without loss of quality in the conditions of loss of packets. This technology assumes MU MIMO and the protection of a video flow allowing to start at the same time several video flows in the HD and UHD format.

Video-Over-Mesh technologies can be used within the Qualcomm Technologies Wave-2,801.11ac portfolio including QCA998x and IPQ806x for broadband gateways, QCA6174 and QCA998x for set-top boxes and extenders of range of network, IPQ401x for Mesh-networks.
