GreenMDC constructed World Data Centres for Ulmart in St. Petersburg

At the end of July, 2017 the domestic manufacturer of modular data centers of GreenMDC brought into operation World Data Centres of TelecomOutdoor NGm set in the suburban center of execution of orders Ulmart the Piskaryovsky in St. Petersburg for Ulmart company.

History of cooperation

This project became already the second installation from GreenMDC for the player of the domestic market of electronic trading. In 2016 Ulmart constructed the second fulfillment-center in St. Petersburg. An object with a total area of 52,000 sq.m. integrates a modern warehouse complex and a zone for customer service, working round the clock. For ensuring work of IT infrastructure the decision to set precollected modular data center in the building was made. Tender on production and installation of World Data Centres was won by GreenMDC company.

In the project precision conditioners of the Italian HiRef brand, delivered by the sole distributor of TRADE GROUP (TERMOKUL Group) in Russia were used.

TelecomOutdoor NGm

In a basic configuration of World Data Centres ScalableMDC TelecomOutdoor NGm consists of two modules — starting and expansion unit, intended for installation to six racks 42U 600х1000 or 600х1200 mm in size. Settlement average power on one rack — up to 8 kW, the maximum power — up to 14 kW. In each module own local conditioning systems, fire-prevention automatic equipment, gas fire extinguishing, monitoring and a local electrodistribution network are placed. All engineering systems are reserved according to scheme N+1.

World Data Centres of TelecomOutdoor NGm have potential of hot scaling with a possibility of expansion to 18 racks. Thanks to special construction of edge walls add-on modules join acting MTSODU without risk for already working equipment.

Project Progress

Earlier within this project specialists of GreenMDC set the mini-DPC of CUBiC intended for installation of one rack with energy consumption up to 5 kW. CUBiC worked in the Center of execution of orders as the main data center within three months. At the initial stages of this power there was enough. After start in operation of TelecomOutdoor NGm in CUBiC ancillary equipment is placed, and it continues to execute the role as mini-DPC.

Especially for Ulmart the design of modular data centers according to the corporate style of the company was developed and implemented.

Project Results

The project of Ulmart company allowed us to get wide experience in the solution of uncommon tasks and became the catalyst of emergence of mini-DPC in our line of solutions. I am glad that high adaptivity of our developments allows to find such unusual solutions.
