The main roads of the Tomsk region will be digitized

The Indorsoft company until the end of 2017 will complete creation of a geographic information system (GIS) on the main highways of the Tomsk region. GIS will allow specialists of Tomskavtodor to make engineering and management decisions using modern technologies.

Specialists of "Indorsoft" conduct work on GIS since 2015. They transfer to an electronic form paper archives of regional government of highways — information on how and when trunks when were under repair what characteristics have, etc. were under construction. Inspection of a current status of roads using mobile laboratory of the company is at the same time made. The UAV which allows to receive the facsimile of all objects on the road is a part of a complex and to create the local map and the car equipped with camera for panoramic (360 degrees) of video filming and installation for laser scanning of asphalt.

"Inspection of roads is as analyses in medicine — the CEO of Indorsoft company Alexey Skvortsov says. — To appoint correct "treatment", it is necessary to collect information on a road status, to measure flatness, rutting, the nature of defects of a covering. Besides, it is necessary to know precisely where there are road signs, barriers, lighting columns where pipes pass and so on. Our work — to create the authentic and relevant database, to bring there all objects, to get rid of paper archives and to give to road builders the convenient tool for work".

As the head of "Indorsoft" told, inspection began in 2015 with the southern areas of the Tomsk region and progressed on the North. This year roads in Krivosheinsky, Asinovsky and Teguldetsky districts are in addition inspected. All data are already obtained and are processed.

"To road builders will be to click an object enough, and there will be a pop-up card with information and also the image. For example, it will be possible to see where there pass water throughput pipes, without coming out to the place. Thus, decisions on operation of roads can be made quickly, proceeding from objective data" — Alexey Skvortsov explains.

The director of "Indorsoft" also reported that the information system implemented in the Tomsk region since January 1, 2018 is put into commercial operation on all network of federal roads of Russia.

"For not federal roads of GIS are developed only in several territorial subjects of the federation. A system is adapted to the Russian standards and has no analogs on the volume of the stored information and solvable tasks" — Alexey Skvortsov noted.
