2017: 3 years of prison for a marijuana transportation using drones
The drug dealer using the drone trying to transport to one of prisons of London a load with marijuana and cell phones himself got to the places not so remote now. In November, 2017 learned the British edition Daily Mail about it.[1]
Incident occurred in August, 2016. The drone with smuggling which flew on the territory of the London prison "Pentonvil" was marked by cameras of outside video surveillance. The UAV was intercepted by officers of division of Operation Airborne which is responsible for protection of airspace around prison.
At inspection of the UAV employees detected 118 grams of hemp, two "mobile phones" and about 72 grams of the psychotropic substance packed into a black plastic packet.
The shipper ran away from the crime scene, but later, on DNA particles left on the UAV, law enforcement authorities managed to identify the personality of the criminal also his home address.
The 21-year-old resident of London Charlie Adifiyi was the drug dealer. At a search at his place police officers detected 476 more grams of psychotropic substance. According to capital police, from sale of this batch in prison it was possible to gain 38 thousand pounds sterling (about $50 thousand)
Later the young man was recognized in three episodes of transfer to prison of the prohibited objects and also in storage of psychotropic substances with a sales objective. Last Monday, November 6, 2017, the court sentenced Charlie Adifey to three years of imprisonment.
I am complete of determination to stop a flow of drugs in our prisons, and I want to express gratitude to personnel of prison Pentonvil and police for the fact that they did not allow to deliver smuggling to the territory of prison and did not allow violation of law and order. The pronounced sentence — a signal to those who can try to repeat similar crime: we will find you and we will put behind bars — the Minister of a probation of Great Britain Sam Gyimah said.[2] |
