Chuck Norris filed a lawsuit against producers of gadolinium for poisoning of the wife

At the beginning of November, 2017 the famous Hollywood actor Chuck Norris and his spouse Gena began legal procedure against 11 companies responsible for production and distribution of the contrast substances on the basis of gadolinium (GBCA) used in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), having said that their products became the reason of big problems with Gena health.   Norrisa compensations of damage in the amount of more than $10 million demand from a number of defendants, including McKesson and Bracco Imaging. In the claim submitted to the Supreme Court of the District of San Francisco it is also said that the problems with Geena's health proceeding long time led to a set of hospitalization and nearly $2 million medical expenses "from the pocket".   The list of defendants looks as follows:

  • McKesson и McKesson Medical-Surgical
;
  •  Bracco Group, Bracco Diagnostics, Bracco Research USA, Bracco Imaging, Bracco Imaging Group и BIPSO (Bracco Imaging Pharmaceutical Sterile Operations);

  • Takeda
;
  • Acist Medical Systems;
  • Merry X-Ray Chemical.

The Bracco company makes and sells gadoteridol (gadoteridol) and gadobenat dimeglyumin (gadobenate dimeglumine) under the ProHance and MultiHance trademarks. In court documents it is said that to Geena Norris entered injections of a gadoteridol and the gadobenat of a dimeglyumin during a series of MRT-scannings.

Takeda and Acist Medical Systems are given in moving papers as participating in development, licensing, production, distribution, sale, marketing and implementation of ProHance and MultiHance. McKesson and Merry X-Ray Chemical are called as distributors of two contrast agents on the basis of gadolinium in California and beyond its limits.

The long-term injuries got by Geena Norris are listed in court documents: cognitive insufficiency; pains and burning in a body; injury of kidneys; loss of energy and mobility; a breath complication owing to injury of edges. Nearly five years later after poisoning with gadolinium it still needs regular treatment by stem cells and other procedures to recover the central nervous system.

The state of health of Geena was in detail described during the whole day of public listening of Advisory pharmacological committee of diagnostic imaging (MIDAC)  of the Management on quality control of foodstuff and medicines  (FDA) considering possible ghost effects of contrast substances on the basis of gadolinium. The commission polled as witnesses of producers and developers of contrast agents and also the patients having serious problems with health which they consider a consequence of use of gadolinium.

On listening Geena Norris's representative read the statement in which it was told that big problems with health began after during a normal medical disease carried out by her three MRT-scannings with gadolinium within eight days. Three days later she woke up in the middle of night with severe acute pain in a stomach.

Despite addresses to emergency aid and meetings with medical specialists, Geena Norris's health worsened to the fact that the central nervous system was strongly injured. According to the statement, the status of the spouse of the film actor is followed by a shiver, weakness of muscles, low body temperature, loss of weight, a hair loss, and other serious problems with health. Norrisa set a hyperbaric pressure chamber of the professional grade in which Geena performed about 120 immersions in the house to facilitate the serious physical condition.

MIDAC completed listening by vote which vast majority of voices supported that FDA reviewed the ordering information for contrast agents on the basis of gadolinium, and included warning of preserving of gadolinium in some bodies and fabrics.

As for legal procedure in San Francisco, Norrisa reported that hope to increase awareness of the public on effects of toxicity of gadolinium and also to warn patients about a potential adverse effect of GBCA.

Unfortunately, legal procedure is the only thing that we can undertake to make responsible the pharmaceutical companies creating threat of life to the so many innocent people undergoing MRT-scannings, said in Geena Norris's statement. — These companies continue to claim that there is no communication between gadolinium and the subsequent unpleasant events, despite the stunning proofs of the fact that this heavy metal remains in an organism rather for years, than for hours.

In the message   the representative of McKesson said to the AuntMinnie.com portal that the company prepares the answer to the claim.[1]

Risk of death because of gadolinium

The wife of the famous film actor and the director Chuck Norris Gene said that she was on the verge of death after holding several procedures of the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using gadolinium. About it the woman was recognized in an interview to the leader of the television show Full Measure on June 11, 2017.

According to Geena Norris, a few years ago diagnosed rheumatoid arthritis which affects joints and is followed by severe pains for her. Within one week carried out by her three MRT-scannings, at once "caused a cascade of mysterious problems with health which almost killed" her.

Norris with the worsening status, including burning in all body, placed in intensive care unit for five-six days. Doctors conducted a lot of examinations, however did not understand what could cause such serious symptoms.

Then Geena decided to look independently for the reason on the Internet. Having compared the symptoms and medical procedures preceding them to information in Network, she came to a conclusion that gadolinium is guilty of everything. Later doctors in clinics in China and Rino (the State of Nevada, the USA) confirmed an assumption of the wife of a star of cinema and several months treated her for "poisoning with gadolinium". Courses of treatment Norris were effective, and she recovered.

In the Full Measure program noted that in 2007 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released warning of gadolinium use restriction by patients with diseases of kidneys, however many people even with healthy these bodies, including Geena Norris, faced medical problems as a result of introduction of contrast substance.

Because of adjournment of gadolinium in a brain tell much about problems with health. In March, 2017 the European authorities recommended to recall four gadolinium contrast agents from the market.[2]
