Data and infrastructure of a television center of Ostankino — under protection of solutions of Acronis

The company Aflex, the sole distributor of the company Acronis in Russia and the CIS, announced on November 8, 2017 project completion on implementing solutions Acronis Backup Advanced for Server and Acronis Backup for Workstation in infrastructure television technical center "Ostankino" (a television center of Ostankino).

Creation of programs and ensuring broadcasting requires smooth operation of all IT infrastructure of a television center of Ostankino. And one of the major tasks is fast backup of the systems of physical servers and data storage of backup copies on tape drives. For fulfillment of requirements, shown to data protection, it was necessary to find the safe solution with a wide range of possibilities for backup and data recovery.

First of all, we had to solve a problem of physical data protection on television center servers. The main solution specifications – reliability and resistance to failures, flexibility of setup of plans of backup, speed of recovery of information, convenience in setup and administration — Alexander Kalinkin, the director of the department of information technologies of a television center of Ostankino told.

Choice of solutions

Specialists of a television center of Ostankino carried out market research and necessary tests of similar solutions that allowed to make a final choice for benefit of solutions of Acronis company.

On Alexander Kalinkin's response, in solutions of Acronis ease of use and functionality attracted: recovery of the backup copy on the new equipment, backup of all image of a system without stopping OS, program load for recovery from the boot carrier, work with tape drives.
