2017: Beginning of use

In the medical center Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem earned the first-ever device of magnetic resonance imaging for newborn children, including premature. On November 8, 2017 the The Jerusalem Post edition reported about it.[1]

The system manufacturer of Embrace Neonatal MRI — the Israeli company Aspect Imaging — not accidentally selected this hospital as the test platform: in the Shaarey-Tsedek center more babies, than in any clinic of the world - about 22 thousand a year appear.

Embrace Neonatal MRI MRT-scanner

In July, 2017 the Embrace Neonatal MRI tomograph was approved to use by Management on control of product quality of a power supply and medicines of the USA (Food and Drug Administration, FDA).[2]

With the permission of the Ministry of Health of Israel and the Helsinki committee of hospital on carrying out experiments with participation of people the advanced MRT-device worth $1.2 million was free of charge installed for testing in intensive care unit for newborn and premature children of the Shaarey-Tsedek center. Approbation will last about a month. It is expected that after that the hospital will get from the Ministry of Health permission to use of a system on a permanent basis.

According to the edition, inspection using the Embrace Neonatal MRI tomograph which is specially adapted for scanning of babies and premature children there underwent already six little patients. It is noted that during the procedure babies slept therefore it was not required to give an anesthesia to them.

The girl who drove out of couple of twins who was born on the term of 26 weeks nearly 2.5 months ago became one of the inspected patients. Doctors suspected at the baby of hemorrhage of a brain, but scanning showed that they are insignificant taking into account what the condition of the child is estimated as good.
