Milecom implemented the domestic systems of URL filtering of network traffic EcoFilter

The trunk telecom operator Milecom implemented the domestic systems of URL filtering of network traffic EcoFilter (producer — RDP.RU company). As a result of solution integration with the existing infrastructure blocking of the websites prohibited by requirements of Roskomnadzor is provided.

Prerequisites

Before EcoFilter implementation the operator fulfilled the requirements of the federal legislation (FZ-139; FZ-149; FZ-187; FZ-436) by means of import specialized devices. When checking traffic an automated system Auditor came to light a small error in 1-2%, sufficient for claims from the regulator. Thus the company had a need for the solution which could solve a problem of URL traffic filtering.

Choosing a Solution

Having considered a number of the foreign and domestic systems, profile specialists Milecom stopped the choice on the hardware-software EcoFilter platform. The solution fitted into infrastructure of the operator, integration took only several days.

Project Progress

The RDP.RU manufacturing company and Teleser system integrator rendered to the customer the qualified help in installation and setup of the equipment and provided flexible support of a product with processing of 24/7 requests. Specialists of operator noted convenience in work with the equipment and low power consumption which will allow to reduce costs on the electric power.

Project Results

Repeated checks by Auditor showed that now the network of the operator is protected from the prohibited content. The device automatically updates Roskomnazor's register and processes HTTP and HTTPS traffic at a speed of wires.

Milecom carefully approaches equipment selection, responsible for traffic handling. In the developed economic conditions we cannot purchase "technologies for the sake of technologies". We look for tools which will increase the value of our services for the existing and potential clients. EcoFilter was just such tool for the solution of a specific applied objective of our many clients telecom operators, namely — identification and blocking of content prohibited to distribution in the territory of the Russian Federation. For us it is also important that EcoFilter supports IPv6 protocol — in the future this option will be of great importance.
