Terracotta DB is the platform of data processing in RAM (In-Memory Data Fabric).
The Terracotta DB platform in general provides:
- scalable instruments of data storage in OP;
- search in OP using additional auxiliary indexes;
- the simplified management of clusters, their monitoring and setup;
- the channels of calculations stream-based providing the high speed of the analysis in the place;
- the tools accelerating development of microservices using the webMethods adapter;
- visual analytics based on MashZone NextGen technology.
2017: Анонс Terracotta DB In-Memory Data Platform
Software AG in November, 2017 submitted the platform of the next generation Terracotta DB for the distributed data processing in the RAM (R). It provides the high speed and performance of processing and data analysis. The Terracotta DB platform supports any applications creating the new, rapidly changing data types (structured, semi-structured the unstructured data given with a possibility of reconfiguration), and allows to process huge information volumes in the scales which are going beyond opportunities of the existing systems.
According to Yosta Tungsten (Wolfram Jost), the technical director of Software AG, unlike standard NoSQL-platforms of databases the Terracotta DB platform processes data in RAM, provides the predicted delay time, allows to store operational data and to analyze them in one solution. It gives competitive advantage to the companies which need the data warehouse which is initially developed for creation of scalable microservices and the IoT applications.
The Terracotta DB platform is developed on the basis of Terracotta BigMemory — a distributed network of data processing in OP. In July, 2017 users of Terracotta took part in beta testing of the Terracotta DB platform in Software AG laboratories first-hand to estimate opportunities and to share the first impressions.
According to the report of Forrester Wave, the Terracotta platform has architecture with the distributed data matrix (but not a peer-to-peer network) providing high availability. According to Software AG, it allows to create quickly blocks of Big Data and to carry out their subsequent analysis for the purpose of extraction of key data and correlations.
In the company give logistics chains, inventory management, payment processing, detection of cases of fraud, processing and accomplishment of orders in online stores as an example of practical application and also all types of the distributed data storage which require a low delay at access from different web applications.
