"The Russian television and broadcasting network" (RTRS) — natural monopoly in the field of communication. The enterprise conducts radio land broadcast of TV and radio channels per all Russia.

RTRS includes 77 branches - it is republican, edge and regional radio teletransmitting centers. About 1.5 thousand state and commercial broadcasters, cellular operators, regional and municipal executive authorities use services.

The chief specialist of Department of the HR policy of RTRS Natalya Goloviznina told how the products iSpring help to train a talent pool in branches of the company.

Task: create the "personalized" training system

Ekaterina Dobrodeyeva Natalya Goloviznina, chief specialist of Department of the HR policy of RTRS Everything began with a request from the management — it is necessary to start the system of selection and preparation of a talent pool on two positions: branch director and chief engineer. Before candidates for these positions in the company purposefully did not prepare.

There were two tasks: develop the program of development and identify the perspective employees capable to take the leading positions. At the same time it is necessary to cover all branches of the company and to organize training of successors, considering their initial level of knowledge, results of entrance assessment and waiting.

On start we faced three difficulties:

Geographical. RTRS include 77 regional branches. We are territorially separated. Therefore exclusively resident instruction — not a panacea. Resource. We had the minimum budget for start. Project. We decided to use the personalized approach: concentrate on interests, the career purposes of reservists. It was important for us that the employee together with Department of the HR policy made for himself the individual program of development. We needed to answer several calls: create a system which would allow reservists to move at the speed, to develop constantly and without separation from the main objectives.

Already at a design stage it became clear – without distance learning not to manage.

We browsed all products offered in the Russian market, did not forget also about the western systems. As a result stopped on iSpring Online.

The offer of iSpring matched ours the check sheet for 100%:

Intuitive interface. Only three specialists are responsible for a talent pool in the company. These are managers, but not programmers therefore simple and clear SDO was necessary. We to a descent understood how to manage iSpring Online. It was not necessary train reservists to use a personal account too. We even did not publish any operating instructions. Support of different formats of materials. SDO "understands" SCORM rates, PDF and DOC files, plays back music and video. At the expense of it we for short term collected the huge knowledge base — about 400 materials. Mobile training. Rates in iSpring Online adapt under any size of the screen: notebook, tablet, phone. Our reservists study any free minute: in a lunch break, on the way home. The personalized approach. With iSpring we could configure an individual trajectory of training for each reservist. Detailed statistics. From the Moscow office I can look at progress of the reservist from Vladivostok. There are enough several clicks of a mouse, and on the screen all achievements of the employee: how often logs into the system what courses gave what tests passed. We constantly monitor learning process: as each specific reservist what rates are interesting what materials study reluctantly studies. Placement in a cloud — one more plus of iSpring Online. The most part of heavy transactions — data storage, ensuring computing power — happens far off. It reduced costs of RTRS.

We also saved time for installation and the SDO setup. In addition a system is updated automatically — it is not necessary to ask for help of IT specialists.

We started a full stroke of distance learning a month later after purchase: were registered in a system, loaded a part of training materials, appointed them to test group and looked at their results on reports.

Usually scenario such:

We think over contents of the training program or a rate, later we select a giving form: presentation, video lecture, dialogue exercise machine. The next stage — selection of materials: text, audio, video, images. We make out content in an electronic rate. We load materials into SDO, we appoint to certain users or at once groups. We collect statistics on training. We are not professional developers of electronic rates, however iSpring does not require profound technical knowledge. The main thing — is sure to own PowerPoint.

Video lectures and presentations. At the same time in a basis — the principles of microtraining: the program for a specific subject includes small videos, slides, short articles, tests and polls. The charm of such approach is that training fits into short time frames and is suitable for very busy persons. Besides, information is issued in the small, easily acquired portions.

Tests and polls. At my order 23 types of questions. It is enough to check knowledge of the reservist of a specific subject. In addition to tests we use also polls. For example, in some branches reservists conducted involvement survey in the divisions.


Library of content. We tried to make a rate without library and spent much more time. Now we do not need to photograph people for characters it is aware, to look for pictures on photodrains. There are already ready-made solutions which are competently thought over on design. Just you select templates and you impose a rate.

Dialogue exercise machines. The dialogue exercise machine completely "submerges" the employee in a specific situation and helps to perfect management and communication skills. For example, skill of providing feedback coupling to the employee. It is great that characters can be sounded. It adds to the realness exercise machine.

4 iSpring is an important part of a system of preparation of a talent pool

The iSpring tools laconically were entered in our concept of work with a talent pool.

We use a set of methods, each of which in own way allows to develop qualities and skills.

The main of them:

development in a workplace; self-training; special projects; trainings; feedback; work with the mentor; training at experience of others. We flexibly approach selection of the developing tools for each reservist. Always we aim that employees used the gained knowledge in practice at once.

Results

To the program of preparation of a talent pool half a year — we on the middle of a way, however already receive regenerative feedback from employees. They are recognized: participation in the program allowed to test new approaches and methods of work, to share experience and practices with colleagues from other regions.

8 people from among a talent pool already held target positions. And a part actively participates in projects of the company and helps colleagues from other branches with the solution of difficult questions.

In the first flow of a talent pool we selected 77 people, and already now, to the declaration of new set, we receive requests from colleagues and we see the growing interest in the program.

Objectives

We want to expand the knowledge base in SDO: release a series of new electronic courses, add more video lectures and books.

Now we work on the program of webinars — we want to master this interactive format of training.

Also we are going to use gamification of iSpring Online to increase the interest of employees in self-training. Let's use the calendar — it will help to consolidate information on internal and remote sessions to one place.
