Experience of implementation of a CAD in Metafrax

In project department of Metafrax company for increase in efficiency of work actively upgrade an automated design engineering system (CAD). In 2016-2017 the implementation project of standardization of design process and training of employees was implemented. The idea of the project belongs to the former head of department Vladimir Lopatin with assistance of company management and Metafrax Inform LLC, and the contractor selected one of the leading consulting companies in the field of a CAD^[1].

At the first stage inspection of the current situation, assessment of level of training of personnel and requirement analysis on improvement was made. On the basis of data retrieveds detailed operation algorithms of department are developed, and further used them for the organization of a system of electronic approval of documents and execution of the standard of project activity in the field of automated design. Then provided training of all departmental engineers in the principles of collective work.

Implementation of a pilot project on three-dimensional design became the final stage. For this purpose we organized group of seven key users who underwent additional training and by means of consultants executed the three-dimensional project "Warehouse of Ethyl Aldehyde of Building 1392a" (fig. "Pilot project"). The experience of use of modern technology of design got by employees became a result of work.

Pilot project Metafrax

Automated design appeared from the moment of implementation in our life of personal computers. Since the beginning 2000kh years in the project organizations the ADP equipment which facilitated work of the designer and accelerated product development began to appear. By the way, I began to work as the design engineer on a drawing table, and this experience very much was useful to me. But transition took place, and we need to develop systematically towards increase in efficiency of design. In a nutshell a CAD – a package of measures, designed to realize an information technology of design, optimal for our company. It is about program and the equipment and about the trained personnel.

So it developed that until recently there was no general approach to work of the designer with a specialized software: each employee used possibilities of the automated workplace moderately of knowledge and experience. And the lack of the uniform standard considerably complicated work.

Implementing the CAD standard, we eliminate amateur performance of each employee, we create the general base and rules by which we will work together. We will have uniform documentation, and will speak with colleagues one language. There will be a basis for growth of culture of production of department in which fifty permanent members of staff, on qualitatively new level work. The standard of work of designers in a specialized software which we from now on adopt is at the moment prepared. Requirements to structure of storage of files of graphic documents, to formats and templates and to document creation are accurately stated in the standard. And also to interaction with an electronic document management system in the company and to development of three-dimensional models.
