Krasnoarmeysky Research Institute of Mechanization

The Red Army Research Institute of Mechanization (KNIIM) was founded in 1947 as a research enterprise for the development of reactive weapons. Since 1954, the institute has been the head enterprise of Russia for the equipment and assembly of ammunition, their disposal, technology for the production of industrial explosives and products from them. The main areas of the institute's conversion activities are: the development of equipment for the food industry, mixing and charging equipment for mining enterprises, the creation of products and technologies for using explosion energy for peaceful purposes.
