2019: Creation of a Booking system for city passenger transport

The Software product company will begin to create a new booking IT system for city passenger transport of Moscow. The contract for 670 million rubles with completion date till June 22, 2021 was signed with it on December 28, 2018[1][2].

A new system will undertake all functions (but it will not be limited to them) the operating booking systems of Moscow Metro and Mosgortrans — ASOP and ASKP that, as stated in the technical project, "will allow to take these systems out of commercial operation".

The tender for creation of a new system was announced on October 31, 2018 — in a format of an open competition with the starting price of contract of 765.4 million rubles. The procedure was started by the Moscow Department for Competition Policy, but "from a name" Moscow Metro which acted as the direct customer of works.

The Moscow "Settlement solutions" and Technoprom with requests for 696.8 million rubles and 253 million rubles respectively and also Zolotaya Korona from Novosibirsk with the offer in 420 million rubles unsuccessfully tried to compete with "software product".

"The planned life of a booking system should make not less than 20 years, said in the tender documentation. — A system should have an opportunity to process the current passenger traffic and also to have a scaling option for increase in a passenger traffic by 50%".

Zone tariffing

In the technical project it is specified a system that it will support the so-called zone tariffing meaning collection of a payment from passengers depending on distance on which they passed. "In 2012 the territory of Moscow increased by 2.5 times with respect thereto the area of coverage of the Moscow public transport extended and there was a need of input of charging zones, but the existing booking systems do not support zone tariffing", said in documents of tender.

In the same place it is said that during the project the management tools model of changes and rates allowing to add new rules of tariffing of journey — "taking into account support of zonality with required logic of processing of passes" should be developed.

"The technical specifications provide integration with the booking systems of operators of suburban railway communication where the zone tariffs are and also support of rates of land transport where similar tariffing also meets — the chief executive of Software product Chursin Dmitry added in a conversation with CNews. — Therefore in order that it was possible to use one booking system in all city transport — both in the subway, and in buses, and in electric trains, the possibility of support of zone tariffing will be provided in a new booking system".

According to Chursin, a possibility of support of zone tariffing — only one of technology functions of a booking system. The main thing — different solutions, cards Three linked with development. "The card will become personalized that will allow to recover balance of a purse and the written tickets at its loss — he notes. — In a system the level of protection of tickets will increase that will be perhaps integrated to fading in of new booking carriers. An architectural opportunity to replicate the Moscow system to other regions will be provided".
