At the end of 2017 the operator Shanghai meters Shanghai Shentong Metro Group signed the agreement on cooperation with the companies Alibaba Group Holding and Ant Financial Services for implementation of technologies artificial intelligence (AI) in work of the subway.
Within the project mobile payment services of Alipay for smartphones, a sensing technology of persons, multimode voice actuation and monitoring of a flow are implemented.
The payment system is integrated into mobile application of the Shanghai subway. It can work without connection to the Internet that will allow passengers to make fast mobile payments via the smartphone which will only need to be attached on the reader on an input.
The sensing technology of persons will also be applied on an input in the subway to scan persons of passengers for fast payment and acceleration of passing to the train.
Multimode voice interaction will be possible in AI automatic machines for sale of tickets. Passengers will be able to call to the terminal the destination point and to receive in reply the list of the next stops. Such terminals work at the voice sensing technology from a long distance allowing to accept a sound signal from several meters, even in the noisy environment. This technology developed by Institute of data analysis and technologies (iDST) at Alibaba DAMO Academy provides synthesis of the automatic analysis of a video information and processing of a voice signal.
Through scanning by the camera telling computer vision can estimate a distance between the user and the booking terminal, thereby selecting the corresponding corners for acceptance of the entering sound.
Visual and sound signals are combined, then the software suppresses noise and strengthens signals for exact recognition of a voice.
It is expected that the project will be started in a full-scale eksplatation since 2018 within the plan of China for creation of infrastructure of Internet of Things in "the smart cities".[1]
