Aspen Technology, the software developer for optimization of production assets, announced in December, 2017 acquisition of a cloud solution of Cipher Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and also a set of network technologies at the RtTech Software Inc. company located to New Brunswick (Canada).

This acquisition strengthens the strategy of AspenTech on optimization of assets, providing difficult cloud solutions and network technologies of "edge" processing of a signal (Edge processing) which fix and collect important data from production assets of the whole plant and on all enterprise. This complex monitoring of all connected industrial assets will expand the possibilities of modeling and machine learning provided within the software of aspenONE for permanent obtaining exact and useful data for the purpose of optimization of performance of separate assets, the whole plant and all enterprise for complete lifecycle.

The software of Cipher from RtTech company offers opportunities of industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) on the basis of available, high-performance network connection of old, new, local and remote production assets without the need for partial or complete replacement of the existing IT / OT-infrastruktur (information technologies/operating rooms of technology) and business systems.

Using the software of Cipher clients can fix the problems connected with creation and service of own IIoT-infrastructure and connection to it of production assets of the enterprise. • Cipher Portal: it is used locally and on a cloud basis for creation of the complex created data warehouse about industrial assets for expanded analytics and optimization of production.
• Cipher Connect: it is used with "edge" infrastructure ("at the edge") for collecting, selection and data analysis from sensors and other sources. Cipher Connect supports a broad spectrum of protocols of communication, including MQTT, OPC UA, OPC DA, Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet IP, Allen Bradley and MT Connect for connection practically of any industrial asset or the device. The data collected using Cipher Connect can be transferred to Cipher Portal locally or to the public, or private cloud storage for the expanded analysis and optimization of production assets. Data can be also transferred to corporate systems, such as historians, APM, EAM (enterprise asset management) and ERP (enterprise resource planning) for use in the business analysis and applications.
