"The first BIT" implemented Electronic Data Interchange of the Krasnodar branch STIHL with the headquarters in Germany

The First BIT company at the end of December, 2017 announced implementation of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) of the Krasnodar branch STIHL with the headquarters in Germany based on the 1C: Enterprise platform.

The EDI format for data exchange is commonly accepted in divisions of STIHL company worldwide. Thanks to its implementation in the Krasnodar branch unloading of orders in head department of the company is brought to uniformity and the risk of emergence of errors when processing orders is reduced.

Prerequisites

STIHL works more than in 160 countries. All 100% of purchases of products are carried out from abroad, i.e. through the head company in Vayblingena, Germany. The daily amount of electronic document management and data exchange with all divisions in the company is huge. Dealers in the cities of the world, including in Krasnodar, send large volumes of procurement documentation to head office. Divisions of the company and head office work in the EDI format for a long time.

In the Krasnodar branch — Calm of Zyudvest company — orders formed the employees in manually in Excel. The staff of head office in Germany independently processed the received file. Due to the lack of a uniform format processing of the received file manually under a necessary format by employees in Germany took certain time and could result in risk of emergence of errors on both sides of interaction.

Project Tasks

The head division of STIHL company demanded to study sales opportunity in the used system of the EDI format accepted in all divisions of the company. Specialists of the Krasnodar branch "The First BIT" suggested to implement additional functionality of exchange of commercial data in the EDI format with foreign suppliers in the used solution – "1C: Trade Management".

Project Progress

Within development of functionality:

• Directories of files for the unloaded and loaded files are created;
• Registers of data with preserving information on the unloaded and loaded text files are created;
• Automatic unloading of files is implemented (with the set interval) only at confirmation of complete readiness.

Implementation Results

Specialists of the Krasnodar office "The First BIT" implemented a possibility of unloading of orders by employees in Germany in the EDI format. At the same time for the staff of the Krasnodar branch "Calm of Zyudvest" the possibility of loading and unloading of orders in the Excel format is left.

As a result of works in the used system the possibility of data exchange between the headquarters Calm in Germany and Calm of Zyudvest in Krasnodar in a required format is implemented. On a response of customers, the convenience of work of employees in parent organization in Germany is increased — according to the results of implementation they have no need to manually process orders. The data exchange system in divisions of the company is brought to uniformity.
