VTB passed to individual scoring of retail clients

Retail business of VTB bank by one of the first in the market began to use individual scoring of the Joint Credit Bureau (JCB) in assessment of solvency of potential clients. The new tool "Individual Card" is used when forming solutions on credit cards and cash loans.

"The individual card" – the tool of experimental design bureau which integrates in itself(himself) all parties of traditional scoring. At the same time it in addition considers features of new clients and the existing portfolio of specific credit institution. The analytical tool is capable to estimate solvency of the borrower on the basis of data from his credit history and has exclusively behavioural character. The final result of assessment forms in the form of point which reflects the probability of a default of the client within the next 12 months. For creation of scoring these 300 million credit stories from experimental design bureau base are used.

Retail business of VTB held testing of the tool in 1 quarter 2017. The pilot project confirmed efficiency of service, and at the moment bank inquiries are processed on the individual model set in bureau. In the course of use of new model the bank managed to improve for the clients approval level on credit cards and cash loans on 3-4 points without increase in risk level.
