ERPaaS (ERP system as service) is model of implementation of information systems.

2018: Announcement

The Awara IT company in January, 2018 provided model of implementation of the information systems ERPaaS. It helps to implement projects on implementation of ERP systems "on a subscription" with significant economy of the budget on start.

According to representatives of Awara IT, company already just are not able to afford to conduct the preproject examinations lasting 3-6 months and the subsequent longer stages of developments — with such approach are risk simply not to be in time behind a rapidly changing environment.

Approach of ERPaaS offers leaving from classical "waterfall" project model. Now there is no need of implementation of the ERP system by the isolated stages which laid down in CAPEX of costs. Software implementation of ERPaaS-model goes short controlled agile-sprints, with arrangement of priorities and almost instant return, explained in the company. Some of pluses — costs are transferred to accurately predicted OPEX. This approach was already applied by Awara IT on a number of implementations in Russia.

In the company also gave examples of cases which the offered model is relevant:

  • The client has dynamic structure of business, or the industry dictates need of permanent changes (for example, retail).
  • The client starts business in the region, new to himself — abroad, or, on the contrary, enters the Russian market with the foreign capital, and at this stage permanent participation and support of integrator in all additions which can be required, for example, for consultation on business processes or features of the local legislation and accounting are required for it.
  • The client is ready to write technical specifications and to discuss project parts, but is not ready to invest in it months, expecting at the same time the start of works sometime then.
  • The client understands that there is a stage of MVP (minimum valuable product) which can be started in the first months of work, having given an impetus to business development practically from the very beginning of work on the ERPaaS model. At the same time all other functionality directed to support of its development and scaling will be developed and improve according to the road map in which priorities can change as quickly as business.
  • The client realizes the value from smoothing of payments in the repeating time frame for the same works which could be split up unevenly both in the amounts, and in intervals of time. All payments are predictable for several years ahead.
  • The client wants to receive additional value from such subscription, can be included in it as well other services – for example, conducting accounting and tax accounting, preparation of the management reporting, support of IT infrastructure, and many others which had to be paid in addition earlier moreover and to coordinate among themselves.
  • The client wants to reduce risks from system implementation using ERPaaS. In this case he will not need to invest solid means and then to wait for result: the result will arise at the earliest stages, and at any time it is possible to adjust the speed of implementation and a priority of tasks.
