2018: A mass series of SSD disks RC100 with the NVMe interface

On January 22, 2018 the Toshiba Memory Europe GmbH company announced release of a series of solid-state disks (SSD) RC100 with the NVMe interface (NVM Express) in a form factor of M.2 intended for retail and Internet sales, system integrators and distributors. In RC100 series the economic constructive solutions allowing to make NVMe-data storage devices available are used productive, but at the same time.

In RC100 series the flash memory of Toshiba Memory Corporation BiCS FLASH company with placement of three data bits in one cell (three-level cells, TLC) and the SSD controller of own development in the same body is used 64-layer that allows to offer consumers a reasonable alternative to more expensive high-performance NVMe to SSD disks. Availability of SSD disks RC100 is combined with their efficiency, and they can serve as the energy efficient solution for data storage in particular demanded among the mobile users needing increase in battery life.

RC100 series offers high performance, liquidating a gap between disks with the SATA interface of 6 Gbps and NVMe SSD disks for computer enthusiasts and occupying the most profitable niche counting on economical consumers. In RC100 series the Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology allowing to reach data transfer rate to 1620 Mbps and 1130 Mbps at a consecutive read and write and up to 160,000 and 120,000 transactions of any read and write per second without use of the internal memory of DRAM is used.

The modules RC100 are intended for all range of mass computers – from the game desktop systems and notebooks to the mini-PC (NUC) and any partial decisions.
