On January 24, 2018 the PTC company announced that BMW Group will use the solution PTC Windchill as the PLM platform for production management and suppliers of standard and purchased products according to structure of a product (BOM). Windchill is applied to configuring of the car and program of the created configuration on production. A PLM system will support the strategy of BMW Group directed to increase in efficiency and process optimization of planning of global production.
Besides, BMW Group selected the ThingWorx Navigate applications for quick and easy access to data on products.
BMW Group will use possibilities of Windchill for work with data on difficult and large nodes of vehicles to provide mass production of cars around the world, saving at the same time flexibility and increasing product quality. ThingWorx Navigate, in turn, supports planning of parallel production, allowing BMW Group to reduce the general time of an output of cars for the market.
