Polymetal models scenarios of development of fields using Anaplan

On January 30, 2018 the CORUS Consulting Group company announced project completion on system implementation of financial modeling based on the Anaplan platform in Polymetal company.

Prerequisites

For problems of financial modeling of Polymetal used the MS Excel. However, understanding all restrictions of this tool (impossibility to quickly consolidate data, to collect several versions of the reporting, to model long-term scenarios of development of the company depending on change of different macroparameters and to analyze efficiency of acquisition of new fields), the company management made the decision on change of a system. For the solution of a task the cloud platform for planning – Anaplan was selected. The partner in system deployment became CORUS Consulting Group.

Tasks

The project team of integrator was faced by a task in the shortest possible time to improve existing practice of modeling, having standardized approach to formation of financial models of all fields of the company, to shift it to the new platform and to add features for the scenario analysis and data visualization.

Project Results

The project was complete in 2.5 months. During this time in a system model of fields taking into account specifics of production processes of all fields, the model of mining and processing plant, the consolidated model of group and scenario modeling were implemented.

The model was automated literally 'from wheels': requirements of the customer were implemented directly in Anaplan in short terms. The reference model of the field in a system was created in a month after the beginning of the project, and the functionality of a system was step by step increased further: the specifics of other fields were added, consolidation, scenario modeling, analytical panels, etc. was configured".
