GS Group provided the digital set-top box based on Android of the Russian development and production. The device under the General Satellite brand allows to be beyond far linear TV, turning the TV into the multimedia center with a range of services and services.

Own software platform of GS Group based on Android makes available to subscribers a large number of various nonlinear services for consumption of content, and to operators allows to simplify their start. Expansion of functionality of the device is provided at the expense of the connected peripheral devices among which – the module of the smart home turning the Set-top box into command center the house. The software platform allows to integrate and start quickly third-party, already available in the market, applications and services for additional monetization of a subscriber base of the operator.

The digital set-top box is designed based on the most modern products and technologies. GS Group presents the solution based on own innovative developments: the microprocessor on SiP technology (System in Package, "system-in-body") combining in the uniform body modern 4-core processors from world leading manufacturers and a number of active elements, including the coprocessor of development of holding. The built-in DRM system which is also developed by GS Group provides the maximum data protection from unauthorized access and meets the highest safety requirements of content providers. In addition, GS Group can propose the complete solution constructed on others, more preferable to operators, software products, being guided by their relevant requirements to digital Set-top boxes.

The set-top box is equipped with two tuners thanks to what its users can watch video content in high quality at the same time on two screens. One tuner broadcasts content on the TV screen, another – on the second TV-screen, the mobile device or the video game console. The built-in WiFi-module with MiMo technology allows to provide reliable wireless connection of the Set-top box to a home network and the Internet. The digital set-top box based on Android it is possible to use as access point and to connect to it mobile devices for management of services and services. The prefix has the user-friendly adaptable user interface and offers subscribers a full range of the built-in services of modern digital television: electronic teleguide (EPG), teletext, subtitlings, timer, function of a reminder and game. Ample opportunities and high speed of work of operator services are reached at the expense of an optimal combination of DDR memory and two eMMC Flash-memories blocks on 8 GB. One of them is intended for implementation of operator nonlinear services: PushVOD, PVR, pauses, rewinds, TimeShift and others. The second block – for additional own and third-party services and applications.

Production of a prefix starts in 2018. All technology chain – from development before packaging of a ready-made product – will be unrolled at the enterprises of the innovation cluster Technopolice GS (the investment project GS Group in Gusev by the Kaliningrad Region).
