Content

The First BIT company in February, 2018 announced automation of an inventory control at furniture factory "Yana". The project is implemented based on the solution "BIT. PIM. Smart warehouse".

Prerequisites

As CIS for sales accounting at the enterprise the modifed program "1C: Trade Management" is used. An inventory control did not conform to requirements of modern production. An inventory control on furniture production has a number of specifics. Practically each nomenclature position (a cabinet, a dresser, etc.) consists of a certain set of so-called packets which can arrive on a warehouse at different times, have different dimensions and an appearance, can be stored in different places. Besides, contents of packets differ in color. Sales accounting at the enterprise is kept in the whole units of production, and warehouse — in data packets of products. Therefore employees of a warehouse should have good knowledge of a product, its actual placement in a warehouse, etc., otherwise at selection of goods approximately it is possible to make a mistake easily.

Consequences of "paper" accounting were:

  • Regrading of packets and flowers at shipment. Furniture was on sale in one unit, and upon was shipped by several packets.
  • High dependence on a human factor as only long ago the working employee precisely knew where the specific module lies.
  • Long process of implementation of new employees.
  • Need of permanent movement on products warehouse for release of the space for again arriving goods, lack of an opportunity to distribute goods in empty seats.
  • Longer build process of goods on shipment.
  • Errors at recalculation of a warehouse (inventory).

The exception of these problems at the expense of system implementation of WMS was a project objective at furniture factory "Yana".

Project Progress

Specialists of First BIT in Rostov-on-Don suggested to use own development "BIT. PIM. Smart warehouse". A system automates the movement and placement of goods, management of acceptance, a complete set, shipment of goods and other warehouse transactions.

Within the project:

  • The data exchange mechanism between WMS and CIS for migration of necessary reference books, and details of the nomenclature and also documents of the movement of goods is implemented (receipt, movement, implementation and so forth). Receipt of requests for a warehouse is automatic from CIS.
  • Address storage is organized. The topology of a warehouse and logic of a placement/fence of positions in a warehouse is configured. A system specifies in what cell to place goods at acceptance and from where to take at issue.

Project Results

On a response of the customer, increase in efficiency of search of goods in a warehouse, reduction of risk of regrading and also risk minimization of influence of a human factor at selection of goods in a warehouse became results of system implementation of an inventory control.

As a result of start of a system in commercial operation independence of work of a warehouse of a human factor as the WMS system manages placement and a fence of goods from necessary cells was provided. With respect thereto:

  • Costs on payment of idle time of hired transport are reduced. Address storage allowed to find quickly goods in a warehouse, ekonomiv time of collecting of the request.
  • Expenses on repeated delivery of the necessary packets to the client are excluded.
  • Need of double entry of data is excluded, errors at information transfer about requests for a warehouse are excluded, operational obtaining requests during the day is provided.
  • Accuracy of recalculation of stock balance is increased.

System implementation of WMS allowed us to bring order in a warehouse and to accounting. To the project we really depended on knowledge of specific employees of a warehouse — only they knew as where is. It was the big risk from our party. Now we are not afraid any more that someone can make a mistake — a system completely excluded it. We are happy with cooperation with First BIT, with specialists of the company we work in the different directions more than 4 years, and they proved as reliable experts. We are going and to develop a system further. We implemented barcoding in a warehouse and we are going to enter into work data collection terminals for control at acceptance and issue of goods — Sergey Perekupko, the head of sales department of furniture factory "Yana" commented on project deliverables.
