2018: Beginning of sales
In February, 2018 the American company Kinsa announced the beginning of sales of QuickCare — new model of the "smart" thermometer about a possibility of Bluetooth connection to the smartphone and the customized application making recommendations in case of heat. The device was approved to use by Management on quality control of foodstuff and medicines of the USA (FDA) in January, 2018, MobiHealthNews tells.
QuickCare is equipped with the display with illumination and the internal memory which is enough for storing of 50 measurements of temperature. The measurement borrowing 8 seconds can be made as under the arm, and a rectal or oral method. The thermometer supports Bluetooth and is compatible to mobile devices running iOS or Android. In customized mobile application the user can get several profiles for all members of the family. As a battery the standard CR2032 battery is used.[1]
As own screen is provided in QuickCare, the thermometer can use and independently, without smartphone, but the application significantly expands opportunities, helping to do measurements and to accept febrifugal more regularly. Besides, on the basis of data on temperature the application offers the personalized recommendations. Also the application allows parents to monitor temperature of the sick child more attentively.
As the producer emphasized, QuickCare not just takes temperature, and gives advice how to recover, and helps to understand, the disease is how serious.[2]
The QuickCare smart thermometer is available on sale in online stores Amazon Best Buy, CVS and Buy Baby Buy at the price of $20. Kinsa offers also the previous, cheaper version of the device under the name Smart Stick in which support of Bluetooth is not provided, and connection to mobile devices happens to the help of the standard connector for earphones.
