2016: VTB 24 prepares the system of identification on the person and a voice in mobile application

VTB 24 in the middle of December, 2016 is going to begin identification system testing on the person and a voice within the updated mobile application. As told CNews in the company, the technology will be available to devices on the IOS platform and Android.

The essence of technology of bimodal biometrics consists in reconciliation of earlier created mold of a voice and a photo of the client (standard) with its voice and a photo at the time of authentication. A system compares a large number of parameters of a voice (a timbre, speed of pronunciation, feature), sets similarity of a reference photo and the user and also defines whether the real person tries to be authenticated on a facial expression.

An opportunity to deceive a system, having provided record of a voice and photo, it is excluded. Record of video will also not help malefactors since at each authentication the user is offered to say a unique control phrase. The standard of a voice and the person registers once and then can be used in any remote channels for client authentication. If necessary, the user can update reference data.

"The new technology provides high degree of reliability at authentication of clients. As the microphone and the camera is necessary for recognition of a voice and the person, users of mobile phones will be the main target audience. The technology can be demanded in a segment of clients where performing transactions for the large amounts is required, or in cases when fraud prevention requires additional confirmation", – Elena Degteva, the head of department of remote banking of VTB 24 noted.

VTB 24 provided the updated mobile application for devices on the IOS platform on December 1, 2016 within updating of remote channels of bank (the corporate website and the menu of ATMs was updated earlier). VTB 24 Online is available to users the simplified input, an input on a fingerprint, the improved navigation, new design and also advanced functionality.
