ZTE will supply to Rostelecom the equipment for upgrade of access networks

The ZTE Corporation company — the large international supplier of telecommunication services, corporate and consumer technological solutions for the mobile Internet — in February, 2018 announced a victory in the tender from shares in 70% of the framework contract for supply of equipment for the first stage of the project on upgrade of access networks of the Russian operator "Rostelecom".

Prerequisites

According to representatives of operator, against the background of fast development of the services founded on IP- Internet users impose more and more strict requirements to access rate to the Internet. "Rostelecom" is in great need in the integrated platform of access which provides traditional telecommunication services and also provides high-speed broadband communication. As envisioned by the operator, the platform will allow to increase the speed of the existing copper cable network and will provide high capacity for the advanced services, including video 4K/8K and in the long term AR / VR.

Project Tasks

Within this project Rostelecom is going to provide high-speed data transmission based on the already existing copper networks. Thanks to the equipment for a multiservice access network (MSAN) from ZTE in which such technologies as VDSL are used Rostelecom expects to complete the first stage of this project. At the second stage it is going to implement the technologies allowing to increase capacity — G. vectoring and G. fast. Concerning technological solutions for the second stage Rostelecom holds the corresponding testings and formation of requirements.

Equipment of MSAN

For upgrade network broadband access infrastructure of Rostelecom of ZTE offered the optimized MSAN C350M/C300M models which at the same time support data transmission on copper and optical networks. This product allows to reduce capital costs of the operator, increasing at the same time the speed of network and also provides smooth evolution of network to FTTx. It, in turn, allows Rostelecom to implement the equipment of MSAN on the optical networks of the next generation. It occurs by release of buildings where there were outdated automatic telephone exchanges and the high-capacious equipment with a possibility of their subsequent sale or leasing and also utilization and reduction of extent of the existing copper communication lines earlier.

ZTE equips the products with lithium batteries which are capable to function long at low temperatures, and delivers special heat-resistant, a heat - and the moisture resistant outside cabinets guaranteeing stable Internet and voice connection. These measures allow to solve properly a problem of deployment of the platform of access of MSAN in the open air.

Besides, in the equipment of MSAN of production of ZTE a number of energy saving innovations, including intellectual technology of power supply and ASIC chips of more high density which lower energy consumption on the port more than by 30% in comparison with an average value in the industry that considerably cuts down operating costs is applied, claim in ZTE.
