AVON transferred data to the Russian DPCs of CROC

On February 19, 2018 it became known that the international cosmetic company AVON according to 242-FZ transferred to DPC of CROC in the territory of the Russian Federation the corporate information systems using personal data of Russians. For unceasing work of online store and other business and critical services for representative office of AVON in Russia disaster-proof infrastructure based on two outsourcing geographically distributed data centers of the Tier III level was created. CROC provides to the customer infrastructure and maintains its working capacity within the managed "Effective Management of IT Infrastructure" service.

From foreign DPC of AVON were transferred online store for end buyers to data centers of CROC, the portal for representatives of AVON, a management system for orders, including modules of the reporting and billing. The AVON company implemented the project in enough short time therefore implementation of the project was completely transferred to specialists of CROC — from plan development of migration of large-scale infrastructure of the customer to the territory of the Russian Federation before creation of the protected disaster-proof platform for continuous work of IT and dependent services.

The local disaster-proof infrastructure of AVON created by CROC integrated the resources selected in two data centers, including DPC Compressor. Such architecture guarantees high availability and resistance of the selected infrastructure of AVON to incidents in work of IT systems. It allowed to minimize the losses connected with unavailability of digital services to users and possible reputational risks.

At a stage of preparation of data migration to Russia CROC created a prototype of infrastructure (Proof-of-Concept Infrastructure). With its help functional testing of the provided solution was held. After a successful completion of the test period process of transfer of large-scale infrastructure of the customer on the territory of the Russian Federation began. During migration of information systems from foreign DPCs specialists of CROC interacted with the global AVON command distributed worldwide.

CROC provides infrastructure to local division of AVON (virtual machines, physical servers, resources of disk space, communication channels) and supports her on model of the Managed service (Managed service). The company receives a necessary pool of computing resources without capital costs and without expenses on own staff of specialists for maintenance and service of components of infrastructure. The service is provided within uniform service from CROC with support 24×7. Such managed model allows to vary quickly the volume and payment of consumption of service depending on business need of the customer.
